Femtoseconds laser pump-probe for nanoroughness analysis

A novel differential technique of femtoseconds pump-probe laser beam to test energy transport properties of nanomaterials, based on an electro-optic device, is presented. As opposed to the standard methods, ours allows the modulation of the probe-beam. As will be shown, the differential method overcomes the drawbacks of the existing technologies for nanomaterials. These drawbacks includes the time resolution of the collected data, the signal to noise ratio and the time to record the reflectance data.
